<i>Qh</i> +COPENHAGEN, ROYAL LIBRARY, NY KGL. SAML. 1768.2

Late 15th c.; paper and parchment (sheet 1/-); 2 0; 308 ff.; 30-2 lines;
decorated border, space for miniature at beginning of first item.
The manuscript is in at least three different hands.  In layout it closely
resembles <i>Pb</i> and <i>Qk</i>, to which it is related textually. 
Medium-sized works (e.g. item 1) are each copied on a quire of paper and one or
two sides may be left blank at the beginning or end of the quire.  Short works
are copied together in a single quire; this is the case with items 5 to 8 and
explains the title of item 5.  Items 18 and 20, both long works, each occupy
several quires.
<i>Qh</i> was formerly Barrois MS 355 in the library of the fourth Earl of
Ashburnham.

It is doubtful whether Droz and Piaget realised that it was the Ashburnham MS;
indeed, in his list of manuscripts containing the <i>Belle Dame sans Mercy</i>,
Piaget referred to <i>Qh</i> by its Ashburnham sale number.
The manuscript has not been used or examined before.  It contains three of the
four poems which were edited and was found to resemble <i>Pb</i> and <i>Qk</i>.
